Poha, also known as pauwa, sira, chira, or avalakki, among many other names, is rice flakes / flattened rice originating from the Indian subcontinent. Rice is parboiled before flattening so that it can be consumed with very little to no cooking.

Poha is less processed and light in terms of cooking and digestion. Poha is the best breakfast food because it packs approximately 70% of healthy carbohydrates and 30% fat.
